Alignment System

STRECON's alignment system ensures a completely balanced and equal closure system of the upper and lower tooling. The alignment system is especially important for larger HPS system sizes.

The CAD drawing illustrates the main principle of a complete STRECON tool system for a large size HPS platform. The blue section represents the stripwound container. The red part is the cooling plates fixed to the container. The upper and lower parts (light blue) show the alignment system, which again is integrated with the anvil housing and cooling system.

The alignment system is built on the following key elements:

• A special designed frame construction
• Gas springs
• Height transducers
• Pneumatic system for an active, controlled, balanced, and equal closure of the system

The alignment system can be regarded as a single system but is closely related to the system tooling for anvil housing and anvil cooling.

The STRECON alignment concept is of course adjusted to the specific design and requirements of the individual HPS system.
