The number of product applications that benefit from the superhard materials made from the high-pressure / high-temperature synthesis industry is still growing at remarkable speed. Especially, the development of new polycrystalline products (PCD and PCBN) is impressive. Today the industry works hard on developing new high-performing polycrystalline products made at pressure levels of 65 - 80 Kbar, and higher! The need for rapid product development has never been more important.
Parallel with the above trend, the industry is also exposed to a global and fierceful competition that more than ever calls for large and very cost effective industrial production systems for the various products. System size, output quality, and production stability are key words.
The tooling side constitutes an essential element of the overall production system. We are proud to say that the STRECON® stripwound tool technology today is considered to be a leading company in designing, building, and assist-installing complete tooling platforms for various high-pressure synthesis applications.
The core STRECON product is the stripwound container, and this pre-stressing tool is applied to cell systems as small as Ø25-30 and up to Ø150-155 mm. The STRECON stripwound tool technology has proven to be very effective in optimizing the service life and performance of the tungsten carbide tools for synthesis and compaction of diamond and CBN products at 55KBar and at much higher pressure levels. STRECON has designed, built, and delivered HPS systems for 65, 70, and 80 Kbar. Our largest delivery until this date is stripwound containers with an outer diameter of Ø1900 mm and with a weight of some 5.2 Ton.
