Pricing & Business Case
Each single STRECON stripwound container, cooling system etc. is designed and manufactured in accordance with the needs and specifications of the customer. Design considerations relate to physical dimensions, selection of materials, engineering and technical support required for developing and implementing the tooling. Therefore, the price is uniquely calculated for each single project.
Because of the high quality of the materials used and the increased number of manufacturing operations required in order to manufacture the STRECON stripwound container, the customer must expect a premium price compared to conventional belt systems. However, when comparing prices, one should take into account the very long life of the stripwound container itself (i.e. it remains fully elastic over several years in service) as well as the value of improved service life of the expensive carbide dies and anvils, and a more stable HPS process.
Together with the client, STRECON makes a business case analysis that estimates the potential savings when using a STRECON tooling solution. The analysis compares the conventional (and current) system platform with a STRECON tooling system. As a rough number, general cost savings of 20% or more can be expected.

The carbide die pre-stressed by a STRECON Container (1.4% interference) and by a conventional multi-ring system (1.1% interference). It is clear how important optimal interference fit is to the performance and likely the service life of the carbide die. Click on the picture for a bigger view. |
